By using the Lumize app, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of use. The App is owned and operated by Lumize and reserves the right to modify or change the Terms of use at any time and without prior notice. Your continued use of the App constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
The App is designed to enhance your digital environment. By using the App, you agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. If these terms of use are in conflict with your local laws, you may not use the app.
This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect the personal information of users of our web, iOS, and Android apps.
We collect the following types of information: your email address, app preferences and content that you insert in the app, such as memorizations, affirmations, affirmation reflections and daily-vibe-shifts with reflections. Your data is stored on your device and encrypted in the database at volume (disk) level. Reflections are encrypted so that they are stored in an unreadable format. We collect certain analytics data to enhance the functionality and user experience of our app.
When subscribing to Lumize via the web, we use Stripe as a secure payment processing service, to process and store your payment information. Stripe adheres to strict security standards and follows their own privacy policy regarding your payment data. On native devices, we handle payments via the in app purchases mechanism provided by Apple and Google.
We use your personal information to: Create and manage your account. Provide the App's features and functionality. Send you important email notifications related to the App. Analyze and improve the App's performance and user experience. We will not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties. We may process information to for security, fraud prevention and to comply with law. The analytics data gathered includes, but is not limited to: Routing information to understand the navigation patterns; Time on screen; Country from which request is made; Interactivity in the app; These insights help us understand user behavior without identifying specific individuals. Your privacy is important to us, and the collected data is used solely for internal improvements.
We use commercially reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or modification. Personal reflections (in affirmation collections) and daily-vibe-shift reflections are encrypted so that they are stored in an unreadable format. When you delete your account, your data is removed from the database immediately, we will only keep data if required by law. We keep backups for 3 months.
Our Web Analytics tool collects only anonymized, aggregated data, adhering to leading data protection authority guidelines. No personal identifiers are tracked across different sites or applications. Data points like page views and custom events remain anonymous, providing insights without individual or IP address association. We do not store information enabling user session reconstruction or personal identification. The collected data is strictly used for aggregated statistics. We only use cookies for functional purposes. In the mobile native app we use Vexo analytics to optimize the user experience.
We utilize third-party services to provide and enhance the functionality and security of our application. These third parties have only limited access to your information, may use your information only to perform tasks on our behalf. Lumize is not responsible for any breach or leakage of data from a third party.
We use Sentry to collect stack traces and error information to help diagnose and address issues efficiently. By using our application, you agree to the terms and conditions and privacy practices of Sentry.
Lumize is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users in this age group. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at legal@lumize.app, and we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
The App allows you to create and store text content, including personal reflections, these reflections will be stored encrypted in our database. You are solely responsible for the content that you create and upload to the App. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to distribute content (lumes and refection questions) via a collection share link, and that the content does not infringe upon the rights of any third party. The Company reserves the right to moderate or remove any content that violates these Terms of use, or that the Company deems inappropriate or offensive. The Company is not responsible for any damages that may arise from the content posted by users on the App. You agree to use the App in a responsible and respectful manner and to refrain from posting any content that is illegal, offensive, defamatory, or infringes upon the rights of any third party. The Company reserves the right to terminate your access to the App and take further steps if you violate these terms.
Except for user-generated content as described above, all intellectual property rights in the App and its content belong to the Company. You may not use, copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the app.
When there has not been any activity from the user for more than 2 years, meaning not signing in or opening the app while being signed in, we have the right to remove all the data that is associated with that user without prior notice.
We may update this privacy document from time to time. If we make significant changes we may notify you via the Lumize app and email.

The App offers a monthly subscription with a 7-day free trial. By subscribing to the App, you agree to pay the applicable subscription fees. Upon cancellation, your access will expire at the end of the current paid term. The subscription fees are non-refundable.
Users can sign in to their account using their email address. It is the responsibility of to choose a safe email provider, have a secure password and potential multi-factor authentication. If access to your email has been compromised, it is possible to enter the Lumize app. We are not responsible if someone gets access to Lumize in this way, this includes if they leak the content that is present in your account.
The App is provided on an "as is" basis. The Company does not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. The Company is not responsible for any damages that may arise from the use of the App. We are continually working to improve the app and minimize the potential for errors and other issues. However, we cannot guarantee that all issues will be resolved or that the app will be completely error-free. If you encounter any problems while using the app, please let us know so we can investigate and address the issue. Users acknowledge and accept the risks and limitations associated with using the app. Lumize is not responsible for any loss or leakage of data. By using the app, you acknowledge and accept the risks and limitations associated with using it. If you do not agree with the terms of this disclaimer, do not use the app.
On Lumize web there is a possibility to generate lumes with AI. You should not assume that the correct translations are always returned. The content of the lumes returned will be based on the collection ‘subject one’ and ‘subject two’ and the topic requested. If you spam this functionality, you may not be able to use it for a indefinite time.
We have the right to fix, change features or update information at anytime; We have the ability to experiment with new daily-vibe-shifts that we deem valuable; We may shut down the app immediately if there is a significant cyber security risk; We may change the collection banners in the app at all times; We may remove users from the app, who are abusing the system in a harmful way;
Within the app, you can give us feedback about the experience of Lumize, we expect this to be done in a respectful and constructive way. We may consider the feedback, but if we don’t think that is the way to go forward, we will not act on it.
When you share a collection via a share link there is an ability to report a collection if the content in the collection is inappropriate. We might take a look and if the collection violates the guidelines we set forth in these terms of use, we can disable the collection share link. We want to make sure that the experience of Lumize is optimal, so if a user keeps sharing inappropriate content, we may restrict the user from sharing collection for an indefinite amount of time.
You may not access Lumize through automated means, whether it be a bot, script or otherwise; You will not use the app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose; You may not use information obtained from our App to attack or abuse another person; You may not intimidate, annoy or threaten any of the Employees of Lumize while communicating with us; You may not copy the software; You may not misuse or exploit any features or functionalities for purposes other than their intended use; You may not spam the app with content;
In the Arcane Vault we select high quality content, which also provides a link to the creator. We validate these link to see if they are appropriate. Do not assume we endorse the contents provided by the external link, and if the contents of the external link refer to something inappropriate, Lumize is not responsible. If you think an external link is inappropriate, we would appreciate it if you can let us know.
The Arcane Vault is a place where we want to display high quality educative collections by Lumize and users that want to apply for an Arcane Spell, which grants the ability to submit 4 collections that get reviewed and added to the Arcane Vault. This submission process and the management of collections is entirely done via the web app. We may close and open submissions at anytime. The person who publishes content is responsible for the content. We aim to establish the Arcane Vault as a place of high quality content. As the collections in the Arcane Vault deal with lumes in the form of text, things could be true or false based on the viewpoint or context the person is looking from. In the case there is an error in the content, we cannot be held liable, but we would appreciate it if you would let us know. The Lumize app slogan is: “Turning distractions into Gold”. This statement must be taken in a responsible way, meaning that it must not cause dangerous situations for yourself and others, you may not check your phone for lumelets while driving, cycling or any other activities that require careful attention. We are not responsible for any accidents that result from using Lumize. You may not use the app if it prevents you from engaging in activities that require your careful attention with careful intention.
Lumize reserves the right to terminate your access to the App at any time and without prior notice.
You agree not to decompile, reverse engineer, modify, or attempt to copy the app.
The Company will not be liable for any damages arising from the use of the App or the inability to use the App, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, and consequential damages, personal injury or loss of privacy. Our liability to you will at all times be limited to the amount paid, if any, by you to us during the 6 month period prior to any cause of action arising. We have the right to take (legal) action if we deem that the terms of use have been violated. If these terms of use have any conflict with your local law, you may not use the app, neither are we responsible.
These Terms of use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of The Netherlands. Any disputes arising from the use of the App shall be resolved exclusively by the courts of The Netherlands. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located in The Netherlands for the purpose of litigating all such disputes. In the event of any dispute or claim arising from or related to the use of the App, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us directly. If we are unable to resolve the dispute informally, then the dispute shall be resolved exclusively by arbitration in accordance with the rules of the Netherlands Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted in The Netherlands, and the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. By using the App, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in The Netherlands and agree to waive any objection to such jurisdiction or venue.
